The story of St.ERHARD® does not begin in Bamberg, where the company is now based, but in Ahmedabad, 6000 km away. The founder Christian Klemenz spent a semester abroad there in 2010 and developed an initially fictitious business plan with his Indian classmate Vikanshu Bhargava as part of his business studies. Germany is best known in India for cars and beer. But you can hardly buy German beer. This is how the idea of ​​a German export beer for India was born. But the idea didn’t stop there, so Christian Klemenz founded St.ERHARD® GmbH in Bamberg in June 2011 with Thies Dibbern and Vincent Osterloh. The first bottles of St.ERHARD® made their way to India in March 2012. Starting as a small start-up for the international market, St.ERHARD® has now managed to become a permanent fixture in the world of craft beer.
