It is with great pleasure that we present a new reference of artisanal beer in Portugal, LIBATA. Being this, a product with the seal of quality of Craft Heritage.
The name “Libata” derives from the word “libar” which means to drink in honor of someone. This name emerges to identify one of the first alcoholic drinks created by humans, the craft beer.
Curiously, and for unknown reasons, the inhabitants of VILA VIÇOSA (land where this beer is produced), were called “libatos” (in slang), and thus, the name of this beer is a way to honor this magnificent village and its inhabitants .
Vila Viçosa is a village in the heart of Alentejo, a town with history, marked by rich heritage and culture, which give it identity and authenticity.
