Brauerei Schwarzach
The Schwarzach Brewery was founded in 1843 by Prince Friedrich Schwarzenberg, later Archbishop of Prague, in Schernberg Castle west of Schwarzach. In 1937, the Seeber brewing family from South Tyrol took over the brewery.
In the mid-90s, the Seeber family was already brewing in the eleventh generation and produced 26,000 hectoliters of beer. In 2002, the brewery received the 16th “Monde Selection” gold medal for “Tauerngold”, and the beer was awarded a total of 18 gold medals. The end of the brewing operation was announced in January 2008. On January 22nd, the last brew was brewed on the brewery premises.
In 2014, the Lindinger family acquired the brewery site in order to build a company location there. The existing buildings were renovated and the Bräustüberl Schwarzach reopened in 2017.
In 2020, a company was founded to rebuild the brewery. And since 2021 there has been beer from the Schwarzach brewery again…
