De Bie Brewery was founded in 1992 in the hopping gardens of the brewers’ village of Watou, close to Poperinge and the French border. It is one of the smallest craft breweries in Flanders.
In 2001, the home brewery moved to Loker. She settled in the famous inn “D’Hellekapelle”. Zatte Bie, Hellekapelle, Plokkers beer and Helleketel beer are the most famous beers of our traditional brewery. Brewery De Bie had a chat, beer and eatery with a beer shop and a completely new brewery. In 2011 Brouwerij De Bie moved to Wakken (Dentergem) on a completely renovated farm where the beer process can be followed from the hopping field to the bottling with the possibility to taste beer from 10 incredibly tasty regional beers, each with its typical taste.
