In the autumn of 2012, Raymond De Saegher came up with the idea of starting a small hobby brewery. From that brewery you can promote regional products from the Pajottenland, do food pairing (the right beer with the right dish), and above all have fun brewing artisanal beer.

Soon there were 3 other candidates to start the project: Geert Van Dorsselaer, Gert Wauters and Frederiek Bouljon. This is how the name 4Pajot arose. We brewed together for the first time in April 2013. Raymond and Frederiek already had extensive experience as technicians in beer fermentation, through training at COOVI-CERIA in Anderlecht. Gert has experience as a bioengineer. Geert is more specialized in technology, automation and recently also as a stainless steel worker.

Our first beer was so good! After that we brewed several times as a hobby. The idea soon came to us that we should bring our beer to the general public. In terms of legislation, this is not so simple: excise duties, VAT, food safety, etc. We met further and our company officially started in July 2014. In the first few months we completed many formalities and, above all, expanded our brewery. Today we have a modern cold room, sensor-controlled temperature control,…

We still liked our beer, and not just us. That’s why we brewed almost every weekend, but due to family and professional developments, Fred, Geert and Gert had to quit in succession. Raymond now continues to brew on his own professionally and can still rely on their respective knowledge and experience.
