The area known as Kanata today was first settled by Europeans in the early 19th century and was originally part of the Township of March. One settlement dating from this location and era is Pinhey’s Point, named after Hamnett Kirkes Pinhey. An English merchant who served in the Napoleonic Wars, Pinhey was granted 1000 acres of land in March Township where he built a small gristmill and homes for his employees. To honour his generosity of spirit, we’ve created Settlers Point Ale, a refreshing and light brew with subtle hints of citrus hops and a malt finish.
