It was at the end of the 20th century that the distillery was established in the heart of the eastern plain in order to promote Corsican fruits and in particular plums which, at the end of the 1980s, replaced a large part of the island vineyard affected by the overproduction of wine.
At the dawn of the 2000s, the plum brandy then the grape brandy from Domaine Mavela each won the gold medal at the Paris agricultural show. Subsequently, the main fruits of the Isle of Beauty will be transformed into brandy and liqueur: myrtle, citron and chestnut, quickly supplemented by the traditional pear and raspberry brandies.
Mavela is rewarded for each of its presentations during national and international competitions. This is how this ancestral know-how is preserved, but also perpetually enriched by new creations.
