Bosch Edelbrand
The history of the Bosch Edelbrand distillery began in 1948 when our grandfather Johannes Renz ran a farm with fruit and livestock. Since there wasn’t much to do in winter and the raw materials were already available from agriculture, the distillery was founded. In 1986 Johannes Renz transferred to his parents. Again in 2000, Andreas Bosch qualified as a specialist in Offenburg and then completed training to become a distiller.
Initially only fruit and berry distillates were produced at the distillery. Curiosity and the will to innovate led master distiller Andreas, together with Dr. Bartels at the University of Hohenheim to develop a Swabian whiskey. The special feature was not only to use common wheat, but also to produce the whiskey based on high-quality Alb spelled. Since procuring spelled proved to be extremely difficult, Andreas grows his own Alb spelled in the Lenninger Valley. This is the only way to guarantee consistently high quality. By the way, our Alb-Dinkel Whiskey JR is named after our grandfather Johannes Renz.
