Schlossbrauerei Au-Hallertau
The brewing tradition of Schloss-Schloss Au-Hallertau dates back to 1590. In the middle of the municipality of the same name in the south of the world’s most important hop growing area Hallertau, there is the brewery and the magnificent castle of barons Beck v. Peccoz, who have been based here since 1846. The family’s lineage can be traced back to the 17th century: from Gressoney, in northern Italy’s Aosta Valley, ancestors left for Augsburg in the mid-18th century. The brothers Johann, Josef-Anton and Karl Beck quickly became so successful with their trading and production companies in the Fuggerstadt that they raised King Ludwig I of Bavaria to the peerage: “because of their diligence, their ability and charity”. Barcker Michael Beck of Peccoz leads the brewery in the 6th generation and successfully led the company into the 21st century – committed to tradition and prepared for the challenges of the regional and international beer market.
