Brauhaus Nittenau
We were first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery in which brown beer was brewed. In 1779 the house burned down and was rebuilt, this time in stone.
From 1808 it was called the “brown Communbrauhaus” and since 1815 it was owned by bourgeois shareholders. The brewed beer was stored in the private cellars. The number of shareholders then decreased over time, until the brewery passed into the ownership of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob in 1923. At that time, it was called the Bräuhaus Nittenau “with beer cooling superstructure” and had two ice cellars.
Since 1996, the brewery has operated under the name Brauhaus Nittenau Josef Jakob.
