The Crolly Distillery - Croithlí Distillery
Place Category: DistilleriesPlace Tags: Whiskey
The heart of the place imbues our whiskey – be that the rugged raw beauty of Donegal or the congeniality and heartfelt pride – of its people. Distillation has been passed down through the ages from St Colmcille in 560 AD, who was known to distil alcohol at the bottom of Errigal to the islands poitin makers. We have renewed this craft and want to warm your heart, through our boutique whiskey offerings.

Dicey Reilly’s bar has been in his family for almost 40 years. In the 1980s, they opened an Off-Licence at the end of the bar counter which had its own entrance and they began to develop a deeper understanding of the products they were serving. This developed into a purpose built Off-Licence adjacent to the existing bar in 2003. “The Read more...

Despite being successful, the Waterside operation always laboured in the shadow of the Abbey street distillery. One reason may have been its geographical location on a steep hill a flanked by two major roads. The distillery was Read more...
