SHIRE Brewing is a project that comes to life over the course of a long history that lies behind home-made pots. Since 2017 five guys, who soon become two, Mirko and Gianluigi, in the small mountain village of 200 souls Porciano (The Shire) have been dreaming and experimenting with any type of idea on a small 50lt homebrewing system under the name “Castrum Porciani Brewing”. Over the years, the experiences become numerous, Mirko participates in an intensive course in KPU Brewing and Brewery Operations in Vancouver and a couple of experiences in breweries in Lazio.
In 2020, non-stop home experiments are intensifying, focused on a production idea studied in detail.
In 2021, the two boys receive an important invitation to participate in the creation of a project within Birrificio Oxiana. SHIRE Brewing comes to life, a beer journey that focuses its philosophy on old school Anglo-Saxon, Germanic and American productions.
In 2023 Mirko was elected Emerging Brewer of the Year and in 2024 in the TOP20.
