Chichibu distillery is owned by Venture whisky and was founded by Ichiro Akuto who is grandson of the founder of the closed distillery Hanyu. Chichibu distillery was built on a small hill in the Chichibu-city. The environment is unique as Japanese. It’s very hot and humid in the summertime, but on the other hand, it’s extremely cold in wintertime with the temperature is dropping to -10? in the morning and evening sometimes. The extreme environment is helping the maturation of whisky and creating original character influenced by local climate.
