A plant of Ukrainska Syrovina Ltd, Greenwich brand cognac is produced at the OJSC “Zeleny Gay” plant located in Voznesensk, Nikolaev region, primarily a wine production. The Cognac produced since 2007 is part of a “naming” war with France who claims the word Cognac to be locally bound to the French region. Meanwhile Ukraine had offered to stop naming their products cognac when getting paid for it. OJSC “Zeleny Gay” is a member of the “Sadvinprom” union and produces a great assortment of wines from their own crops and cognacs, with the annual output of 250-300 thousand decalitres. It is also a supplier of a wide range of fruits with a second plant in Buchach. It exports mainly to the Baltic countries, Russia, Germany and co-perates with French companies.
