Colonsay Brewery
Brewing beer on an island is challenge enough. Brewing beer on a remote Hebridean island of 120 people, accessible by boat (weather permitting) some two-and-a-half hours from the Scottish mainland is another thing altogether.
Colonsay is not just any Scottish island. It is the smallest island in the world with its own brewery. Against the odds, we set out with the unlikely vision of creating a genuine hand-craft micro-brewery in the place we call home. Due to our remote location, most people thought we were mad. But here we are.
Our brewery is at the heart of our small island community. The pace of life on Colonsay is like going back in time – nobody is in a hurry. Even our beers are slow brewed to deliver maximum flavour and refreshment.
We source the very best natural Scottish ingredients – including our pure Hebridean water – to make our three core beers – IPA, 80/- and Pig’s Paradise Blonde.
