Flying Leap Vineyards & Distillery

FLVI produces red, white, rosé and fortified wines of varying degrees of sweetness, acidity, tannin and oak character from an array of carefully-selected grape varieties uniquely suited for southern Arizona’s dry, arid climate and soil chemistry. These include traditional Rhône-style blended wines from red grape varietals such as Grenache/Garnacha, Petit Verdot, Mourvédre, Tannat, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano. White grapes in FLVI’s portfolio include Viognier, Marsanne, Malvasia-Bianca, Verdelho, Albariño and Piquepoul Blanc.
The Flying Leap Distillery was completed in Summer 2016, with distillation operations currently underway. Flying Leap will be a producer of grappa, brandy, vodka and whiskey. Grappas will be made from the company's own material following wine pressing, and brandy will be made from wine. Vodka and whiskey will be made from locally-sourced Arizona grains.
