The creation of Tatum Cellars was the same year as the birth of our daughter, Tatum Rose, in 2012. Our founder and winemaker, Joshua Fritsche, was busy working in the cellar and vineyards of William Chris when he noticed the Texas wine industry was severely lacking in a specific wine style, dry rosé … then the idea of Tatum Rosé was born.
Initially, the brand was focused solely on dry, Provence-style rosé but the demand for the initial 40 cases, pushed him to make more wine with more varietals. Josh began partnering with outstanding growers to source the best fruit in the state. His relationships with these growers allowed him to focus on single vineyard offerings as he believes it’s the best way to truly express Texas terroir. Our 11th vintage (2022), produced approximately 800 cases of 100% Texas wine.
